BRACKGROUND
I was
convicted when I was between seventeen (17) and eighteen (18) years of age. In
April, 1968, I was baptized in Careysburg. By God's grace, I was ordained and
began functioning as a pastor in 1984.
I am a
college graduate of 1969 with a B Sc. Degree in education and minor in theology.
Making Theology my minor subject was a great mistake. Therefore, to correct my
mistake, I enrolled in the Basecra School in 1980 – 1983, in Zoegeh.
I had served
as a pastor/trainer for churches and orphanages. I had also attended many
seminars and leadership training for and advancement. Presently, I am conducting
leadership training in the Fellowship Baptist Ministries, Soul Clinic Road
Junction, Paynesville, Monrovia, Liberia for a period of two (2) months.
HISTORY
In March 3,
1973, I was officially employed as principal of a government school. I served as
a principal for Gblah Elementary & Junior High School in 1971 to 1977.
During this term, I worked with the Liberia Inland Church. On August 19, 1977 to
1978, I was transferred to Buutuo High School as principal. In 1979 I was
transferred to Bahn Senior High School. In 1984 to 1988, I served as principal
for Kpallah Elementary & Junior High and work with the Liberia Inland Church as
Pastor/Trainer. In 1989, I was elevated and transferred to the office of
District Supervisor of School for Nimba County School District # 2.
During the
year 2001 to 2002, I served as Classroom Teacher for the Golgotha Baptist
Mission in Suakoko, in Bong County, Liberia and also worked with Mercy Baptist
Church as Sunday School Teacher and Trainer.
In 2003 to
2004, I worked with the Gbarnga Community Orphanage as a Principal, Pastor and
Administrator. With the understanding between the Directnesses for Gbarnga
Community Orphanage and Children Rescue Center Orphanage Mission I was asked to
remain with the CRC Orphanage Mission to train and
educate the kids. This Mission was broken down by the Liberian civil
crisis and I was requested to remain there to put things together and encourage
the children and workers. This is been done on a humanitarian basic (no money)
but with a support of little food. All my transfers mentioned above came about
at a time when I was most needed to put things right where things went wrong in
these institutions. At this end time, I have expressed my desire to withdraw my
family serving our Almighty God under the name Unity Baptist Church.
THE NEED
When war
drove us from our place, we left with nothing to start with. The war destroyed
everything we owned. As a result, we are only waiting onto our God for our
survival. Now that we are hanging in somebody's old house, our greatest need is
house to live in and enjoy peace with the word of God than receiving lots of
threat for rent. My family needs at least one (1) lot. My wife Mrs. Lynn B.
Yates need little amount of money to start a little business so that she will be
able to get things such as wearing, provision for medication, and help for our
children's education.
CURRENT
PLANS
- I have
decided and withdrawn my membership from Unity Baptist Church to serve as
pastor for Fellowship Baptist Ministries, Soul Clinic Road Junction.
Paynesville, Liberia.
- I am a
church trainer, and I have already started training the Fellowship Baptist
Ministries Church in accordance with my plan to train pastors, evangelists,
deacons, youth and leaders in general.
- I have
planed to bring under Fellowship Baptist Ministries the below listed churches
in Bong County, Liberia if it is God's will.
a)
Mercy Baptist Church with a large congregation in Suakoko Headquarters,
Bong County, Liberia.
b)
Macedonian Baptist Church, Nah Town, Bong County, Liberia.
c)
Repentance Baptist Church, Gbanay , Bong County, Liberia.
d)
Bethel Baptist Church, Giamue Town, Bong County, Liberia.
e)
Born Again Baptist Church, Taylor Town, Bong County, Liberia.
f)
Charity Baptist Church, Mc-Gill Town, Bong County, Liberia.
g)
Emmanuel Baptist Church, Sergeant Kollie Town (SKT), Bong County,
Liberia.
h)
Redeemer Baptist Church, Gwenemar Town, Bong County, Liberia.
i)
Gbatala Baptist Church, Gbatala, Bong County, Liberia.
For further
information, God have used me and other pastors to plant the above listed
churches.
It is my
heart's most fervent wish if it is God's will, to see to it that the F.B.M. have
well trained pastors, evangelists, and other leaders to go out for Christ.
Beside my
theological studies, I am a B. Sc. Degree holder in education. I am one of the
oldest teachers. I conduct workshops for both teacher and church respectively.
I plan to
bring to the F.B.M. attention to have an orphanage home, additional schools and
engage in winning souls through crusade in and out of our community which is
another easy way to encourage the Holy Spirit to convict the lost ones.
I wish to
inform administration that four (4) of our children are presently residing with
relatives in Bong County, Margibi County and Randall Street respectively,
where they are in school. They could not be with us because of current financial
difficulty. This we consider an embarrassment posed on our relatives as
they themselves are facing some financial hardship and are often calling upon us
to take our children back home. We promise to make available the photo of the
entire family as soon as our other children are back home.
