Revive Liberia Missions, Inc.

My name is Mark Parmenter.  I represent ReviveLiberia, a new mission group started to increase the Kingdom and provide care and sustenance for our brothers and sisters in West Africa.   I am a professional sculptor and I own a small bronze casting foundry and forge.  Before I opened my own business I worked in research and development and in manufacturing as an engineer.  I have a broad background in both the arts and sciences and in computer technology.  I live in Spencer, Indiana, a small town of about 3000.  I attend the Owen Valley Christian Fellowship, a church of about 160 people.  I have a wonderful wife, Julie, three children, two grandchildren and we love and support three children one each in Thailand, Honduras and Haiti.

I became involved in mission work about two years ago by joining a church mission committee.  I have always been interested in the cultures of other countries and I wanted to become involved in helping people in countries around the world find Christ.  I also wanted to help provide material help to those less fortunate than myself and my country.  When I started doing this work I did not know what I was getting into, but the Lord showed me the path and I followed.  Shortly after I started learning about the various missions we supported, I signed up to go to Honduras with Lifeline Missions to work doing construction at a church and school.  This was a short term trip and I found that I really loved this kind of work.  God put it in my heart to use my abilities to pursue mission work and so that is what I have done.

Phil Eckert had gone to Liberia a few months earlier and also went to Honduras.  I had already started to help him with his mission work  in Liberia.  On the trip, I learned more about the situation in Liberia and we formulated plans to increase our involvement there.  In the past year we have worked hard to set the groundwork to expand our role in Liberia, working with Pastor Peter Gebeor of the Unity Baptist Church.   I am also involved wiht my wife Julie in Haiti with Lifeline Missions.  We sponsor 3 children, one in Haiti, one in Honduras and one in Thailand.

Our hope is to band together with anyone who is working in Liberia and Haiti to expand the Lord’s work through teamwork and cooperation.  I believe that a network of Christians working here in the States and worldwide, can achieve unbelievable Glory for the Lord.
